Tangled

I. About the Film

　

Tangled is a 2010 American 3D computer-animated musical fantasy-comedy film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Loosely based on the German fairy tale "Rapunzel" in the collection of folk tales published by the Brothers Grimm, it is the 50th animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series. Featuring the voices of Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi, the film tells the story of a lost, young princess with long magical hair who yearns to leave her secluded tower. Against her mother's wishes, she accepts the aid of a handsome intruder to take her out into the world which she has never seen.
Before the film's release, its title was changed from Rapunzel to Tangled, reportedly to market the film as gender-neutral. Tangled spent six years in production at a cost that has been estimated at $260 million, which if accurate, would make it the most expensive animated film ever made and the fifth most-expensive film of all time. The film employed a unique artistic style by blending together features of computer-generated imagery (CGI) and traditional animation while using non-photorealistic rendering to create the impression of a painting. Composer Alan Menken, who had worked on prior Disney animated features, returned to score Tangled.
Tangled premiered at the El Capitan Theatre on November 14, 2010, and went into general release on November 24. The film was well received by critics and audiences alike. The film earned $591 million in worldwide box office revenue,^[3] $200 million of which was earned in the United States and Canada. The film was nominated for a number of awards, including Best Original Song at the 83rd Academy Awards. The film was released on Blu-ray and DVD on March 29, 2011; A sequel short, Tangled Ever After, was released later in 2012. A television series will premiere in 2017.

Brothers Grimm

The Brothers Grimm (die Brüder Grimm or die Gebrüder Grimm), Jacob (1785–1863) and Wilhelm Grimm (1786–1859), were German academics, linguists, cultural researchers, lexicographers and authors who together specialized in collecting and publishing folklore during the 19th century. They were among the best-known storytellers of folk tales, and popularized stories such as "Cinderella" ("Aschenputtel"), "The Frog Prince" ("Der Froschkönig"), "The Goose-Girl" ("Die Gänsemagd"), "Hansel and Gretel" ("Hänsel und Gretel"), "Rapunzel", "Rumpelstiltskin" ("Rumpelstilzchen"),"Sleeping Beauty" ("Dornröschen"), and "Snow White" ("Schneewittchen"). Their first collection of folk tales, Children's and Household Tales (Kinder- und Hausmärchen), was published in 1812.

II. About the Designer

Lagerfeld designed the costumes for the Carmen sequences in the 2002 film Callas Forever; in 2004, some outfits for singer Madonna for her Re-Invention tour, and recently outfits for Kylie Minogue's Showgirl tour.
Lagerfeld collaborated with H&M, which, on 12 November 2004, offered a limited range of Lagerfeld clothes for men and women, in certain outlets. Only two days after having supplied its outlets, H&M announced that almost all the clothes were sold out. However, Lagerfeld has expressed some fear that working with lower-end brands will taint his image; although, in the past he has worked closely with the hosiery designer Wolford.
Lagerfeld is also a photographer. He produced Visionaire 23: The Emperor's New Clothes, a series of nude pictures of models and celebrities. He also personally photographed Mariah Carey for the cover of V magazine in 2005. In addition to his editorial work for Harper's Bazaar, Numéro, and Russian and German editions of Vogue, Lagerfeld photographs advertising campaigns for the houses under his direction—Chanel, Fendi, and his eponymous line.
In the 1980s, Hans Christian Andersen tale "The Emperor's New Clothes" was published with drawings by Lagerfeld.

I. About the Film

 Manuel is stuck in a monotonous job, has only one friend that he cannot stand, and his family despises him. Everything will change when the doctor diagnoses him with a rare disease - Manuel is going to turn into an elephant.

A. Reaction Point - characters

• In this story, main character is to become elephant and appear its family and friend.

Rip Van Winkle and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

I. About the Novel

These story are written by Washington Irving.

Rip Van Winkle is a main chracter of first story. He meet an old man and sleep in a mountain twenty years.

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a teacher's story.He loves a beautiful woman.However, one day,  he meet headless ghost. He disappear next day. She married other man.

This book was published in 2008.

III. About the Author

Washington Irving was born in New York, USA, in 1783. He was one of the first noted American authors to be highly acclaimed in Europe during his life time. He wrote numerous short stories, biographies, histories, and tales of his travels. His characters Ichabod Crane and Rip Van Winkle are now icons of popular American culture, and many of Irving’s works have inspired stage and movie adaptations. He died in 1859 and is buried in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, New York.

A. Reaction Point -Protagonist(メインキャラクター)

• Protagonist means the most important character in a play, film, or story.
• Rip Van Winkle's main character is Rip Van Winkle and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow's main character is Ichabod Crane.
• Rip Van Winkle is a man who hates to work and to meet his wife. Ichabod Crane is a good teacher in Tarry Town.

B. Reaction Point - Character(登場人物)

• Character means people in a book, play, film, or story.
• Rip Van Winkle's character are Rip's wife and his friends. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow's character are Katrina and Brom.
• Rip's wife is angry because he don't work everyday.  His friends meet him in his favorite bar. Katrina is a beautiful woman who is loved by Ichabod and Brom. Brom is a man who marry with Katrina in the end.

• Setting means the place where something is or where something happens, and the general environment.
• Rip Van Winkle's story is in small town, America. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow's story is in Tarry Town.

D. My General Opinion

I read the novel first time. First, Rip Van Winkle is bad man, so I think that he is unhappy is natural thing.
Secondaly, Ichabod Crane is good teacher, but I didn't think he is good man, so he couldn't marrie with beautiful girl.

II. About the Poet

William Wordsworth (7 April 1770 – 23 April 1850) was a major English Romantic poet who, with Samuel Taylor Coleridge, helped to launch the Romantic Age in English literature with their joint publication Lyrical Ballads (1798).
Wordsworth's magnum opus is generally considered to be The Prelude, a semiautobiographical poem of his early years that he revised and expanded a number of times. It was posthumously titled and published, before which it was generally known as "the poem to Coleridge". Wordsworth was Britain's Poet Laureate from 1843 until his death in 1850.

A. Reaction Point - Rhyme

    The poem is rhymed, for example Cloud and crowd.

B. Reaction Point - Rhythm

    Part of "gazed---and gazed---"  become more rhythmical 

 than only "gazed", so we      can read it good rhythm.

C. Reaction Point - Simile
    Flowers are figuratively spoken the stars.

D. My General Opinion

    Daffodiles' language of flower is conceit and narcissism. I feel not only kindness of nature but also daffodils' brilliance and like self-assertive. I had warm feelings to read this poem.
